Q: Why would I want to become a permanent cosmetic technician?

A: Permanent Cosmetics technicians earn up to $250,000 a year. They enjoy the financial freedom of a very lucrative career. They gain personal satisfaction from enhancing the lives of the others. They enjoy the flexibility of working as many or as few hours as they wish. They provide patient treatments for plastic surgeons, dermatologists and ophthalmologists. Q: Who chooses to become a permanent cosmetic technician?

A: Cosmetologists, Estheticians, Nail Techs, Laser Techs, Nurses and Physicians. You can expand your business with your existing customers. They will love your new career. Many choose to work for yourself, or in the office of a physician to augment your income. Virtually anyone may choose to become a permanent makeup technician.

 

Q: Are there any Pre-requisites necessary to take the Basic Course ?

A: Yes, you must either be a certified Laser Technician, Nurse, Esthetician, Cosmetologist, Physician, Hair Stylist, or Nail tech. Other considerations such as an experienced tattoo artist, or other professional can be considered. You must also have a current Bloodeborne Pathogens Certification. Q: Once I receive my training, is there any license required to do permanent cosmetics?

A: The regulations vary by state. We can furnish you with more information about the laws governing your area. Call us for details about your particular situation.

 

Q: What do I receive upon graduation?

A: You will receive your certification, eligibility for liability insurance, ongoing technical support  to assist you with answers to your questions regarding procedures, eligibility to join national associations involved in a state legislation for the purpose of attaining high standards in the industry.
 

Q: What does the Basic Course of Instruction entail?

A:  Basic Course of Instruction is five very full days of intense training. It is an excellent introduction to the exciting career of permanent cosmetics.  This 100 hour class includes lecture, live demonstrations, step-by-step instructions and hands-on practice in the basic permanent cosmetics procedures: eyeliner, lipliner, and eyebrows, lectures covering health considerations, color selection, sanitation & sterilization, machine basics, insurance, insurance, consultation topics, communication and marketing.
 

Q: What is taught in the Advanced Course of Instruction?

A: Advanced Training Course is recognized throughout the world as the ultimate educational experience for practicing  technicians.  This intense 3 day course covers advanced techniques, paramedical applications, and step-by-step instructions for areola and camouflage procedures.  Lecture also includes color theory , color correction, and tips for eliminating touch-ups. Business building and marketing techniques as well as working with physicians are also popular topics. You will participate in a variety of hands-on procedures which may include (depending on model availability) mucosal eyeliner, hairline stroke eyebrows and scar camouflage.
 

Q: Is it necessary for me to take both the Basic and the Advance Courses?

A: No.  Most students who take the Basic Course of Instruction do not find they need the additional training to get started in the business.  The Advanced Course is best taken after a technician has been  actively doing procedures for at least 6 months. This better prepares technicians for the advanced information covered and avoids information overload when both classes are taken together .
 

Q:  What is covered in the Comprehensive Hands-on Clinic?

A:  This two day clinic is perfect opportunity for the newer technician to increase their confidence and quickly accelerate their career. This hands-on clinic is also a great refresher course for anyone who has been in the field wanting to enhance their skill level.
 

Q:  Can I take all three classes, the Basics, Comprehensive Hands-ON and Advanced Class at the same time?

A: Yes. If you are new to permanent cosmetics, you must complete the Basic and the Comprehensive Hands-On classes before  taking the Advanced Class. Taking all three classes at once is a rigorous fast-track experience and is not suited for everyone.  Many new technicians benefit from doing procedures  in the field for several months before moving on to the Advanced Course.
 

Q: What is the difference between the Basic  and Advanced Courses?

A: The Advance Course  is designed to assist technicians in perfecting advanced procedures and to resolve any difficulties they may  be experiencing, especially for those who taken courses from other less  comprehensive training programs.
 

Q: Can I really learn to do procedures in just five days?

A: Yes, the course is very complete. You can learn to procedures following our Basic Course,  however, be prepared for necessary touch-up applications or follow up procedures until you become experienced.
 

Q: Will I be able to begin doing procedures immediately following the course?

A: Yes.

 

Q: Do I need to bring a model to the class?

A: You may bring a model to the hands-on training portion of the course, or we may have volunteers available.
 

Q: What can I expect financially the first year following completion of AIIC’s  course?

A: Realistically, beginning technicians can expect to earn from $20,000 to $50,000 working part time or $100,000 to $150,000 working  full time while they are gaining experience. Seasoned technicians performing paramedical and other advanced procedures can earn up to $250,000 a year.
 
Q: What are my options for job opportunities?

Q: What is the cost of the Basic Training Course?

A: The Basic Training course is $4400.00. This 100 hour class includes preliminary home- reading materials, on-site power point lectures, live demonstrations, step-by-step instructions and hands-on practice in the basic permanent cosmetics procedures: eyeliner, lipliner, and eyebrows, lectures covering health considerations, color selection and correction, sanitation & sterilization, machine basics, insurance, insurance, consultation topics, communication and marketing. In addition to the Certificate of Completion, the new technician will receive a “starter kit” which includes a machine, a starter-pack of needles, several pigment colors,  and numbing gel!  Add-on classes are available to take in immediately following the basici classes for an additional $300. These classes are, Tattoo-Removal, Eyelash Extension, Dermal Rolling, and Advanced Lip Training.
